Quick project for a girlfriend that needed the Xbow for her Diablo 3 costume.
Based on a NERF Nightfinder,with a few re-used parts.
XBOW itself is custom made with foam, thick cardboard and balsa.

I did a Nerf bow a few weeks back, very similar in aesthetic to this, though a different base gun. I like your 'wood' style on this.

thanks,i got lucky with the wood grain because at first it didnt come out at all the way i wanted. After smudging 3-4 coats of different browns all over,i finally decided to try my luck and trace out wood grain lines in a light brown.

It paid off strangely enough :)

Thiiiis is really cool. Execution is overall good, though the foam is a little bit bumpy. Still, I love the runes, and the whole thing has a great fantasy vibe.

Yeah,im not happy with the foam. The bow part is covered in papier-mache my girlfriend made (i was busy painting her shoulder plates for her outfit so she took over the piece a bit) and im just not a fan of the look. Its too un-even and bumpy as you said. Its really hard to get proper crisp edges with it,i think i'll stick to wet-gluing and smoothing the pieces out of only foam like i did on my Plasma Cutter.

The results are much nicer and precise
